How to uninstall libcompass-ruby1.8 from Ubuntu

Uninstall libcompass-ruby1.8

To uninstall just libcompass-ruby1.8 package itself from Ubuntu execute on terminal:

sudo apt-get remove libcompass-ruby1.8

Uninstall libcompass-ruby1.8 and it's dependent packages

To uninstall the libcompass-ruby1.8 package and any other dependant package which are no longer needed on Ubuntu.

sudo apt-get autoremove libcompass-ruby1.8

Purging libcompass-ruby1.8

If you also want to delete configuration and/or data files of libcompass-ruby1.8 from Ubuntu then this will work:

sudo apt-get purge libcompass-ruby1.8

To delete configuration and/or data files of libcompass-ruby1.8 and it's dependencies from Ubuntu then execute:

sudo apt-get autoremove --purge libcompass-ruby1.8
