How to uninstall cupsys-common from Ubuntu

Uninstall cupsys-common

To uninstall just cupsys-common package itself from Ubuntu execute on terminal:

sudo apt-get remove cupsys-common

Uninstall cupsys-common and it's dependent packages

To uninstall the cupsys-common package and any other dependant package which are no longer needed on Ubuntu.

sudo apt-get autoremove cupsys-common

Purging cupsys-common

If you also want to delete configuration and/or data files of cupsys-common from Ubuntu then this will work:

sudo apt-get purge cupsys-common

To delete configuration and/or data files of cupsys-common and it's dependencies from Ubuntu then execute:

sudo apt-get autoremove --purge cupsys-common

cupsys-common package information

name cupsys-common
section net

Common UNIX Printing System (transitional package)

This is a dummy package to ease transition to new package name. You can safely remove it after the upgrade.
