How to uninstall adblock-plus from Ubuntu

Uninstall adblock-plus

To uninstall just adblock-plus package itself from Ubuntu execute on terminal:

sudo apt-get remove adblock-plus

Uninstall adblock-plus and it's dependent packages

To uninstall the adblock-plus package and any other dependant package which are no longer needed on Ubuntu.

sudo apt-get autoremove adblock-plus

Purging adblock-plus

If you also want to delete configuration and/or data files of adblock-plus from Ubuntu then this will work:

sudo apt-get purge adblock-plus

To delete configuration and/or data files of adblock-plus and it's dependencies from Ubuntu then execute:

sudo apt-get autoremove --purge adblock-plus

adblock-plus package information

name adblock-plus
section web

transitional dummy package

This is a transitional dummy package to ease the migration from the adblock-plus to the new xul-ext-adblock-plus package. You can remove it safely.
